Events

Our cleanups are free, public, and beginner-friendly. We typically partner with a nearby café, shop, or community spot — mostly to raise awareness and send a few new faces their way.

  • Anyone can join: show up, say hi, grab a bag.
  • Optional patron: support the partner business if you want.
  • Community-first: we usually hang after.

Don’t see anything scheduled? We post updates on Instagram and in the WhatsApp group.

About us

Astoria Trash Club kicked off in September 2025, started by Kevin and Paul with a simple idea: clean up our neighborhood and meet more of our neighbors along the way. Inspired by Greenpoint Trash Club, we wanted to bring that same energy and community spirit to Astoria.

Since then, we’ve been excited to see other trash clubs pop up nearby in places like Woodside and Sunnyside. We hope it keeps growing across NYC and beyond.

Our mission is simple: keep Astoria clean and build community. Whether you're picking up trash with us or grabbing a bite after, it's all about showing up, connecting, and supporting local businesses together.

What to expect

A short cleanup loop, friendly hellos, and usually a casual hang nearby afterward. If you’ve never joined a cleanup before, you’ll fit right in.

Small business partners

We like featuring local spots — especially newer or under-the-radar places — to help them get seen. No purchase required.

Gear + supplies

We often bring extra bags/gloves. Bring your own grabber if you have one, and dress for the weather.

Stickers (eventually)

We may sell stickers down the line to help fund supplies. Until then, donations keep things moving.

Connect

Follow along, get reminders, and join the chat. If you want to help fund bags, grabbers, and supplies, donations are welcome.
